Dress and Evening Gown

A night dress, also called a nightgown or nightshirt, is usually a loose-fitting garment of nightwear, often worn only by women. A dress, on the other hand, is more fitted and has a fitted waist, hip, or lower leg. A dress can be embellished with ribbons, sequins, beads, and sequins. A dress, also known as a chemise, usually has a bustier that covers the chest area, while a dress in the form of a chemise does not have a bustier.

While a dress is most commonly worn with long or short sleeves, it can be easily converted into a short-sleeved version, usually by adding a ruffled collar. A dress can also be converted to a shorter sleeved version by choosing a dress that features a ruffle trimming around the hemline. The sleeve lengths are generally of the short length with the long length sleeves being used only for formal events such as weddings. Long, flowing dresses with full sleeves are always best suited for casual and informal occasions. There are even dress that can be transformed into shorts by tying a small tie around the waist while wearing a short-sleeved version.

One of the best places to buy an evening dress is a department store where a large variety of dresses is available. The evening gowns available in department stores are usually the same ones sold at specialty shops. Another good place to buy an evening gown is a specialized evening apparel shop. These shops carry dresses in both short and long length. However, it is important to remember that department stores usually charge the price of the dress separately from that of their other products.
