Flapper Dress

The flapper dress is still popular as the perfect evening dress for any event, but it is no longer just in vogue. The flapper style, as popularized by media images in the 1920’s and ready made costumes from the 1930s, was actually only in trend for a short time before disappearing from fashion in the early 1930s. In the late 1920s, after World War II, hemlines began to rise above the ankle, which was quite unheard of at the time. This style was revived in the mid-1960s when celebrities like Madonna and Ginger Rogers were wearing it to help establish a new look for what was then called the “flower power” generation.

As the flapper dress became more popular, designers continued to tweak the design in order to make it different from everything else out there. This style also had a lot of accessories that you can wear to complete your flapper look. There are beautiful jewelry pieces that flappers would wear, such as earrings and a headband or hairpin, which matched their blouses. Other accessories include earrings, necklaces, rings, brooches, pins, pins and brooches.
