Midi Dress
A midi dress generally is any dress which falls below the knee but above the ankle and even sometimes on top of the foot, thus its name. However the distinction between a midi skirt and a full length dress is that the full length of a full-length dress usually falls below this line, either on the floor or at the ankles. This type of dress was first used in the 1970s, when designers were looking to create some more versatile clothes for the masses. Since then, it has become popular for every style of woman to wear a short skirt or even just a mini dress if they want to.
Nowadays, you will find that many of these dresses are made with very high quality materials and are rather comfortable to wear especially when compared to a full length skirt. Midi skirts can be either long or short, depending on your taste and personal choice. It can even go down as low as your knees or even just above them. Some of these dresses come in various colors, prints and patterns as well. Some are even made with various embellishments such as sequins or zippers, giving them more of a designer look. Some designers also opt to add sequins to their midi skirts in order to give them more of a sparkly and glamorous look.
Most women choose to wear a short midi skirt in order to keep their legs at a minimum. However, there are also those who prefer to wear a full length skirt. A midi skirt can either be worn with or without a pair of boots. In most cases, it is always a good idea to match a midi skirt with a pair of boots as this would make your appearance complete. A pair of high heels is usually not recommended, however. These types of shoes tend to make the legs look shorter than they actually are and this is why most women find it advisable to avoid wearing them.
