The Importance of a Sweater Dress

A sweater dress, sometimes referred to as a jumper in English, is an extremely stylish piece of apparel, usually with short sleeves, usually with long knitted or crochet material, which covers the whole of the body. When sleeveless it is sometimes referred to as a sweater vest or slipover. In the past, these dresses were often seen as feminine and more modest than the styles of today. This is no longer the case.

Today, a sweater dress can be both dressy and casual, and still be very fashionable. The styles and cuts available today are not just for everyday wear, but are also available to be worn with an evening dress. These dresses can be paired with taffeta, chiffon, lace, velvet and other fabrics, as well as many types of shoes. The sweaters, either short sleeved or long sleeved, can be worn with almost anything, from jeans, t-shirts, cardigans, blazers, skirts and shorts, to boots. Even the summer dresses you wear to summer picnics, can be teamed with a sweater dress, as it looks fantastic with those dresses as well.

There are also various designs, which come in long sleeves that can be teamed with a short-sleeved dress. There are also dresses that have double length sleeves that can be teamed with a long-sleeved jacket or dress. Many designers are also offering other types of sweaters such as shawls, vests, jackets and other pieces of accessories.
