Wearing a White Dress
The wearing of a white dress on designated public events is amongst the most treasured and highly recognized of the university’s historic traditions. In the early 1900’s, the white dress became one of the most fashionable uniforms worn by students at the university. At that time it was called the “white dress.” But during the Second World War it became known as the “Service uniform” because its main purpose was to cover the uniformed servicemen.
Although the white uniform did not always have the same color as the uniform of military personnel, the two colors are often used together in the same fashion, especially in movies or TV shows that feature the military. But today the white uniform is seen mostly in a light-colored shade. As the use of white in everyday wear becomes more common, a lighter version of this dress is now also in fashion. Today’s modern women prefer the traditional white dress in addition to a more pastel-colored version. This dress is usually in a satin or other similar fabric. Although it is popular in a lighter shade, the dress can still be a stunning piece of clothing. White is still associated with many different meanings in the minds of most people, but one way that is more common today is the use of a dress to portray a certain mood of a woman.
There is a long tradition of white dresses in the United States. White is a symbol of purity and innocence, which most women desire in a partner. The color white is even used by some women as an anti-aging pigment, thus making it a perfect choice for some modern brides. In the past, white has also been associated with love and romance, which is also why so many brides choose to wear white dresses at their wedding. When you choose to purchase a white dress, you are making a statement about your own personal style as well as expressing your feelings for someone special in your life.
